Good evening Albuquerque,

I want to start by wishing those beginning their Hanukkah holiday Chag Sameach filled with light and peace. Our interfaith family is celebrating and we are grateful for this chance to bring light into our home.

The holiday season is always a time for many to think about ways to give back, and the pandemic has demonstrated the needs in our community more than ever. There are many ways to step up for our community from volunteering, to supporting non-profits, even working for the City in a department that works on issues that you care most about. What we are asking of every Burqueño is for you to Choose One thing and do it.

As we continue to fight to get out of the red zone of the pandemic, continue to stay home when possible, wear a mask anytime you go out and maintain social distancing. By doing these things, we will keep our neighbors healthy and get our businesses closer to getting back to normal. Until that time, we will continue to provide a safety net by providing grants and PPE to businesses, housing our homeless population, and helping working families to stay afloat.

Thank you for doing your part to make our beautiful, resilient city, safer and healthier.
