Mayor Tim Keller Nominates New City Clerk

Mayor Tim Keller today announced Albuquerque-native Katy Duhigg will serve as Albuquerque’s next City Clerk, pending City Council’s confirmation. As City Clerk, Duhigg will serve as the City’s chief records custodian, conducts municipal elections and manages administrative hearings.
“The City Clerk is responsible for promoting transparency at the City, and Katy Duhigg has the experience we need to improve those processes,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “She has spent over a decade working to make government more open and responsive. I look forward to working together to bring our city to the next level in these areas as we serve the people of Albuquerque.”
The City Clerk is also responsible for conducting administrative hearings related to vehicle seizures, animal appeals, handicapped parking and personnel matters. The City Clerk also conducts municipal elections.
Born and raised in Albuquerque, Katy Duhigg graduated from the University Of New Mexico School Of Law and is the Managing Partner of The Duhigg Law Firm. For ten years, Duhigg has been focusing on election law and consumer protection cases. Katy also serves as the Vice President of Common Cause New Mexico, a nonpartisan, grassroots organization dedicated to fair elections and making government at all levels more democratic, open, and responsive to the interests of all people
