Mayor Tim Keller Honors ABQ Resident with One Albuquerque Award: May 29, 2020

Habiba Akhil is recognized today with a One Albuquerque Award for the incredible amount of work he is doing to help ensure that our neighbors to the West in the Navajo Nation have supplies. Habiba, along with Rep. Anthony Allison, arranged for 30,000 bottles of water from the Islamic Council of North America to be delivered to Shiprock on the Navajo Nation. This was in addition to another 18 wheeler of food, water, hand sanitizer, and PPE from Islamic Relief USA.

The One Albuquerque Award is given to members of the community or City employees to celebrate their extraordinary efforts in making Albuquerque a safer and more inclusive place. The award highlights the positive impact individuals can have on communities and calls on others to think about ways to help their neighbors and the city as a whole.
