ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Mayor Tim Keller and Albuquerque Police Department (APD) leadership will hold a press briefing on the restructuring of the department. Last week, Keller announced that he is streamlining the department by creating a new working organizational chart that reduced bureaucracy, fosters community policing, and positions the APD to better address requirements under the federal court settlement. Keller and the new APD leadership made the changes with the input of many current and former law enforcement officials and advocates in the community.
