Mayor Keller, City Leaders Join Neighborhoods for National Night Out
Tomorrow evening, Mayor Tim Keller and leaders from all City departments, and first responders will join communities throughout Albuquerque for National Night Out. National Night Out is an initiative that takes place in neighborhoods across the country, encouraging folks to get out in their community and meet their neighbors to talk about public safety and how to prevent crime. City leaders participate in the initiative every year to help connect communities to local government and first responders, and to educate folks about the steps the City is taking to build safer, stronger neighborhoods.
“Knowing your neighbors and being engaged in your community are important building blocks to create a safer city,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “We look forward to getting out and visiting neighborhoods across Albuquerque to hear about folks’ experiences and share what we’re doing to make our city safer for families.”
Public safety is the top priority for the City of Albuquerque. From investing in modern technology to help officers fight crime, to expanding the Community Safety Department to free up officers and firefighters, to making historic advancements in housing and homelessness, the City is focused on fighting crime and making our streets safer.
For this year’s National Night Out, the City created informational materials to share with the community and help them connect to what we are doing, with details specific to each different area command. Attached is the bifold for the newest area command, the University Area Command.
