Help Celebrate Outstanding Volunteers at the Albuquerque Museum
Mayor Tim Keller, First Lady Elizabeth Kistin Keller, and the One ABQ Volunteers Advisory Board will celebrate the tenth annual Mayor’s Day of Volunteer Recognition on Friday, April 11, 2025 at the Albuquerque Museum.
The Volunteers Advisory Board had an outstanding array of nominations, reflecting the many people who stepped up for others in our community in 2024.
This slate of volunteers has provided music education and instruments to youth, dedicated quality time as a senior companion, and supported people who are unhoused. One volunteer has given decades-long support of the National Museum of Nuclear Science and American Lung Association. Another volunteer supported 11 organizations last year alone!
Community members interested in attending the free event can register online.
“Liz and I look forward to sharing this celebration with the awardees each year,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “The tremendous heart and leadership demonstrated by these volunteers inspires others in our community to take action and be of service.”
"Volunteers are the heart of our community," said Event Chair Vaisu Bronk. “On April 11, we’ll celebrate those who go above and beyond, but we also honor the collective spirit of every volunteer whose dedication strengthens our city and enriches the lives of others each and every day."
“This event brings together representatives from the volunteer community like no other,” said Board Chair Miriam McIntosh. “It’s a pleasure to be able to uplift these awardees and support the many dedicated volunteers, friends, family, and colleagues who attend.”
“The Serve New Mexico Commission is proud to be a sponsor of the Mayors Day of Volunteer Recognition and to recognize the important role of volunteers within our communities and, in particular, highlight the impact of National Service within New Mexico,” said Serve New Mexico Commission Executive Director Kristin Hsueh.
