Citywide Partners Unite to Set Kids Up for Success
July 27, 2022
The City of Albuquerque’s Office of Civic Engagement, the One Albuquerque Fund, and the Corporate Volunteer Council of New Mexico (CVCNM) partnered to raise over $30,000 in funds and collect school supplies from donors across the city for Albuquerque students.
“The past two years have impacted our students in many ways. We are proud to be able to help alleviate the burden that some families face by not having access to necessities like school supplies,” said First Lady Elizabeth Kistin Keller. “These supplies will help our students be set up for success when they return to school in the next few weeks.”
“New Mexico’s youth deserve all of the opportunities and support that we can give them. That’s why the Corporate Volunteer Council (CVC), and its many member-partner companies and organizations (and their employees), work so hard to provide supplies and funds to help ensure that kids have what they need to succeed in school,” said Kristin McLoughlin, President of CVC. “Kids throughout our local communities will become our future leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, and job creators – shaping an even brighter future for New Mexico. This is why the CVC, and its many member-partner companies and their employees, work so hard each year, to provide supplies and funds to help them succeed.”
"Thanks to over 15 members of the Corporate Volunteer Council (CVC) and the City of Albuquerque for coming together once again to unleash and demonstrate the full potential of working together.” said APS Manager of Volunteer Programs and Special Projects, Vaisu Desai Bronk. “This has been a hard few years for many families who are struggling to buy what their kids need for back to school. The annual CVC supply drive helps thousands of students in need with school supplies so they can come to school ready to learn.”
All donations collected through the One Albuquerque Fund are directed to the APS Foundation for the purchase of needed supplies.
