City Events and Closures for 4th of July, Tips for Reporting Fireworks

Ahead of the July 4th holiday, the City of Albuquerque is sharing information about holiday closures, open attractions, celebrations, and safety resources for Fourth of July.

Fun for the Whole Family 

The City is hosting its annual Freedom 4th event. Freedom 4th is a free event for all ages and will take place July 4, 2024, at Balloon Fiesta Park. Gates will open at 3:00 pm. Families can enjoy food from local vendors, family-friendly activities, live music and a firework show. For more information about the event and Park and Ride options, visit our website.

Call center special hours are: 

  • July 3 from 6 a.m. to Midnight 
  • July 4 from 3 p.m. to Midnight 
  • July 5 from 6 a.m. to Midnight 
  • July 6 from 6 a.m. to Midnight 

What’s Open  

The 311 Community Contact Center, trash pickup, Solid Waste Convenience centers, City pools, golf courses, Lucky Paws Adoption Center, the Albuquerque BioPark, and museums are all open and operational on July 4, 2024.  

Holiday Closures  

Buses, Animal Shelters (except for the admissions desk and reclaims) City offices, community and child development centers, libraries, senior meal sites, and youth summer meals are closed in observance Independence Day.
