What to Bring to New Employee Orientation

  • Supporting original documentation to complete I-9 verification. Please see attached list of Acceptable Documents. 
  • Banking information for direct deposti to include routing number and account number.
  • Name, social security number, date of birth, and address for death beneficiary.
  • Employees enrolling family members in the City's Insurance Benefits are required to bring the most recent tax return for a spouse or marriage certificate and 2 joint financial documents; birth certificate or court order to establish eligibility for child(ren) dependents and social security number(s) for each.
    • Contact Insurance & Benefits at 768-3758 for information on required documentation for Domestic Partners coverage.

New Employee Forms

Once you have received an offer letter, please review the document below which will assist you in completing all of the forms required for employment with the City of Albuquerque.

Time

  • Mondays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at City Hall or Online.
  • Due to the Covid-19 Crisis, NEO may be held online. You will be notified by your department if this changes.
  • Mandatory classes online are assigned at the Monday session.

Location

New Employee Orientation is typically held at the CABQ Employee Learning Center

Basement Level of City Hall
1 Civic Plaza NW, Albuquerque, NM 87102

Occasionally orientation will be held at other locations including APD Training Academy, Albuquerque Fire Rescue Training Academy, and South Broadway Cultural Center.

If NEO is held online, during the session new employees will be directed where to deliver their I-9 documentation.

Parking

For orientations held at City Hall, the map linked below indicates two low-cost paid parking lots that accept only credit or debit card and two garage structures that accept cards and cash. All new hires will be responsible to pay for parking.

If you park at City Hall in the underground parking at Civic Plaza, you will receive validation for the two days of orientation.

Lunch

Lunch is on your own. There are many local eating establishments around most of our orientation locations.

Attire

Attire is business casual, please be prepared for your photo to be taken for your City ID badge. Refrain from wearing gray, green, or light blue colored shirts.
