ALBUQUERQUE – The City of Albuquerque is continuing to strengthen its support systems for families experiencing homelessness by partnering with a trusted community organization to provide dedicated housing navigation services.

The City Council has approved a Professional Service Agreement with Youth Development Incorporated (YDI) to provide family housing navigation services, supporting families as they transition out of homelessness and into stable housing.

Gateway Family serves about 65 families and 120 children at a time, providing a safe place to stay and connect to school and early childhood services. Families work with onsite case managers toward housing and employment.

YDI has been a cornerstone in the community since 1971, serving children, youth, and families through a wide range of supportive programs. Their deep roots and proven track record make them a natural fit to operate family-focused services at Gateway.

“We continue to build a first-of-its-kind system that goes beyond shelter,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “With strong partners like YDI, we’re walking alongside families on their path to stable housing, treatment, and a better future.”

“We’re grateful to our City Council for supporting this mission of uplifting families,” said Health, Housing and Homelessness Director Gilbert Ramirez. “Together with our partners, we’re working to offer families real opportunities to regain housing and rebuild their lives.”
