Youth Programs

2024-2025 Before & After School Programs

Before and/or After School Programs are available at most of our Community Centers, Therapeutic Recreation sites, and various PLAY+ APS Elementary Schools.

These programs provide planned, organized, and supervised activities designed to meet the recreational needs of the children who attend.

Community Center, Therapeutic Recreation, and PLAY+ registration is ongoing. Registration fees may apply.

Winter Break Youth Programs

Community Centers 2024-2025 winter break programs are offered as first-come, first-served for children 5 to 14 years old, and must be registered in Kindergarten. Registrations will be available at play.cabq.gov with more information to come about specific dates and times soon. Each child needs a current membership to register. There is a one-time registration fee of $10 per child. Contact your center directly for specific program information.

Summer Youth Program at Community Centers

Summer 2024 Program Dates & Hours

• For children 5 to 15 years.  Children must be 6 years old before September 1st, 2024 and have completed Kindergarten.
• Runs June 17 to Aug. 2, Mon. to Fri., 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Summer 2024 Lottery & Registration

Due to the high participant demand, a "lottery-style" selection of participants is used. You will need to create an account to proceed and access the site. It is also important to note your user name and password as you will need this information to register and submit payments.

Register for the Summer Youth Program

• Lottery Sign-up: May 6 - May 17
• Lottery Drawing: May 20
• Registration for selected participants: May 22 - May 31
• Programs with available slots after May 31 will open for registration
• Once a program's registration is full, a waiting list is kept and maintained. Parents/Guardians of waiting list participants will be notified as space becomes available.

Due to the high number of participants in the Lottery Pool, the following sites will not accept any additional names on the Waitlist.  Parents/Guardians of waitlist participants will be notified as space becomes available.

Summer Program Fees

One-time $10 registration fee per child.

Spring Break

Community Centers will hold 2024 spring break program March 25 - April 5, Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Registration begins Monday, March 11 at 8 a.m. and is first-come, first-served. Register at play.cabq.gov. Each child needs a current membership to register. There is a one-time registration fee of $10 per child. Contact your center directly for specific program information.

For income tax purposes, the City's Federal Tax ID Number (EIN) is 85-6000102.

Important Note

City of Albuquerque programs do not provide year-end statements. Any time a payment is made, we do provide receipts and we suggest that participants of the programs save those receipts for tax purposes.
