Health Permit Renewals & Fees

Information on paying for Health Permits for a food establishment or pool.

To renew a Health Permit for a food establishment or pool, you must pay any outstanding fees.

If you have not received an invoice in the mail, please contact the main Environmental Health Office at 505-768-2738 or via email at [email protected] to check the status of your account.

If you have received an invoice, please review the invoice formats below to ensure you follow the correct link for payment processing.

If you are a non-profit organization, adult or child care facility, or a microbusiness, you may qualify for discounted fees.

  • Non-Profits:
    • If you are listed as a non-profit in our system, then your invoice should already reflect the discount. If the discount is not present, please be prepared to show proof of your status as a 501(c).
  • Adult and Child Care Facilities:
    • The discount was automatically adjusted on your invoice based on the type of permit held.
  • Microbusinesses:
    • A business that employs seven (7) or fewer persons at any time. You must self-certify to receive the discount. Please call 505-768-2738 or email [email protected] with one of the following documents:
      • Form ES-903A, Quarterly Wage and Contribution Report, submitted to the NM Dept of Workforce Solutions
      • Form TRD-31109, Quarterly Wage, Income Withholding and Workers’ Compensation Fee Report submitted to the NM Taxation and Revenue Dept
      • If your business doesn’t file either report, please contact our office for further instructions.

Note that on Aug. 1, 2024, the Food Service and Retail Ordinance went into effect and the accompanying rules created a new permitting structure. Your invoice reflects the fee for the new permit type assigned to your business. You may pay for fees related to Pool, Food Establishment, Food Processor, Cannabis, and Vending Machine permits. You will also use the new process to pay Noise Penalty fees.
