Impact Fee Amendment Process
The City of Albuquerque has started the process to amend its impact fees. The City will have hearings to take public comment and consider amendments to land use assumptions, the capital improvements plan and impact fees for the City of Albuquerque. This calendar shows the steps for how the amendment process will proceed. The first meeting is a Committee-of-the-Whole meeting on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 5:00 pm in the Vincent E. Griego Chambers, Basement Level of the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Government Center, 1 Civic Plaza NW, Albuquerque, NM 87102. The Committee of the Whole will forward the proposed impact fee amendments to the full Council. The date of full Council consideration will be announced following consideration by the Committee of the Whole. Also feel free to contact us electronically to ask questions or voice concerns about the proposed legislation.
Any member of the public has the right to appear at the hearing and present evidence for or against the update. Copies of the proposed impact fees (O-12-38), service areas, capital improvements plan (R-12-98) and land use assumptions are linked here and available at the Office of the City Council on the 9th Floor of the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Government Center, 1 Civic Plaza NW, Albuquerque, NM 87102. The final draft of the report “Impact Fee Land Use Assumptions and Capital Improvements Plan, 2012-2022” (OC-12-7) is linked here and available at the Office of the City Council.
Proposed New Service Areas (see maps)
ROADS. One road impact fee service area is established, encompassing all of the land within the City limits, with the exclusion of the area within the Mesa del Sol development.
DRAINAGE. Five drainage impact fee service areas are established, as depicted on the maps included in the Impact Fee Study.
PARKS. Four park impact fee service areas are established, as follows:
- Northeast Service Area. All of the land within the City limits, as may be amended, located north of Candelaria Road and east of I-25.
- Southeast Service Area. All of the land within the City limits, as may be amended, located south of Candelaria Road and east of I-25, with the exclusion of the area within the Mesa del Sol development.
- Northwest Service Area. All of the land within the City limits, as may be amended, located north of I-40 and west of I-25.
- Southwest Service Area. All of the land within the City limits, as may be amended, located south of I-40 and west of I-25.
OPEN SPACE. The open space impact fee service area is the entire area within the City limits, as may be amended, with the exclusion of the area within the Mesa del Sol development.
TRAILS. The trail impact fee service area is the entire area within the City limits, as may be amended, with the exclusion of the area within the Mesa del Sol development.
FIRE. The fire impact fee service area is the entire area within the City limits, as may be amended, with the exclusion of the area within the Mesa del Sol development.
POLICE. The police impact fee service area is the entire area within the City limits, as may be amended, with the exclusion of the area within the Mesa del Sol development.
