New Councilors Take Oath of Office

The public is invited to the Albuquerque Convention Center for the Swearing-In Ceremony for newly elected City Councilors on January 2, 2024

On Tuesday, January 2, 2024 the City of Albuquerque will swear in the members of the 26th City Council at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

WHO: Councilor-elect Joaquín Baca; Councilor Brook Bassan, Councilor-elect Nichole Rogers; Councilor-elect Daniel Champine

WHAT:  Albuquerque City Council Swearing In Ceremony

WHEN: Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. (reception to follow)

            Interviews with City leaders will be available immediately after the ceremony.

WHERE: Albuquerque Convention Center, Ballrooms A and B

This event is open to the public. Those interested in attending can RSVP online or by calling 505-768-3100. Parking will be available under Civic Plaza and at the Convention Center.

Joaquín Baca, City Councilor for District 2 was elected and will be serving his first term on the City Council. District 2 is the city-center district encompassing downtown, old town, parts of the University of New Mexico campus and the entire valley east of the river.

Brook Bassan, City Councilor for District 4 was re-elected and will be serving her second term. District 4 covers Albuquerque's Northeast Heights.

Nichole Rogers, City Councilor for District 6 was elected and will be serving her first term on the City Council. District 6 covers Albuquerque's Southeast Heights encompassing the University of New Mexico campus, Nob Hill, and the International District.

Daniel Champine, City Councilor for District 8 was elected and will be serving his first term on the City Council. District 8 covers Albuquerque's Far Northeast Heights and Foothills.
