Four Hills Traffic Calming Study/Design

The study evaluation of the streets within the Four Hills Neighborhood has been completed. The project is now in the design and development phase.

Recommendations for "Intersection Daylighting" for Stagecoach Road and Wagon Train Drive

On May 22, 2024, the City of Albuquerque and Lee Engineering held an open house for Four Hills residents to discuss proposed additional traffic safety features for stop-controlled intersections along Stagecoach Road and Wagon Train Drive.

This feature, called “Intersection Daylighting,” is proposed in response to safety concerns discussed in past public meetings and documented in the Traffic Calming Study for the Four Hills Neighborhood report published in May 2023.

Intersection 'Daylighting' improves safety at stop-controlled intersections by limiting on-street parking spaces adjacent to each stop-controlled approach. By preventing parked vehicles from blocking the view of road users entering the intersection, drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists have more time to respond to and prevent potential conflicts.
