Construction Notification - Morris Street

ALBUQUERQUE - ABCWUA Crews will start a project on August 26 to install a connector pipe across Morris Street that will enhance the utility’s non-potable water system. This non-potable system is used for irrigation of parks and golf courses on the north side of town. This connection work will add another supply option to this system. Crews will close the Central New Mexico Community College north entrance beginning on Aug. 26 and then close both north and southbound Morris on Sept. 4. This closure is for the safety of the crews, commuters, and the surrounding neighborhood.

What should you expect?

1. Water and sewer service will not be affected during this project.
2. The sidewalk along Morris Street will remain open. Bicyclists and pedestrians must detour around the road closure to cross Morris Street.
3. Please use caution and obey all construction signs, follow detours, slow down your speed, and allow for extra time to reach your destination.
4. Motorists are encouraged to avoid this area and find an alternative route to reach your destination.

This project has a scheduled end date of September 20, 2024.

(NOTE: All work is weather permitting and subject to change without notice) Regular work hours will be Monday-Thursday 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Fridays from 7:00 a.m. - noon, but barricading will remain in place 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for safety.
