Councilor Fiebelkorn to Speak at Annual Albuquerque Red & Green Vegfest
August 19, 2022
Albuquerque City Councilor Tammy Fiebelkorn, District 7, will be one of the speakers at the annual Albuquerque Red & Green VegFest, hosted by the nonprofit Sprouting Compassion.
“You’ll get to try lots of vegan food, learn about veganism and animal-related issues and see some really great cooking demonstrations. This is one of the unique and exciting festivals that Albuquerque has to offer, and it’s right here in District 7” said Councilor Fiebelkorn.
VegFests are community festivals to celebrate plant-based, healthy, ethical, and sustainable living. The festivals are intended to be open to all and promote plant-based resources and businesses.
Nancy Arenas, Sprouting Compassion’s founder, started the Red & Green VegFest in 2016, the first of its kind in New Mexico. “It’s a wonderful way for the community to learn about veganism, connect, educate, engage, and inspire. It’s for our whole community, both vegans and pre-vegans.”
Tickets are available for pre-sale. $10 for general admission and $5 for seniors, students, and children 6 to 15. Children 5 and under are free. More information and tickets can be found at https://redandgreenvegfestabq.wordpress.com.
