Altura Park Improvements

Completed: 2024

Altura Park received numerous upgrades in 2024 including the planting of 9 new trees and celebrated the planting of the pollinator garden. The harvest of the garden was so abundant that City of Albuquerque workers made bouquets for the nearby senior center. The creation of the pollinator garden and the planting of trees helps sustain biodiversity by providing food, water, shelter, and places to raise young for wildlife. These can also help reduce heat islands as the trees mature and prosper.
