D6 Parks and Recreation
- Phil Chacon Park—$10M renovation; finishing Spring 2025.
- Los Altos Park--$10M Phase 2 (dog park, pump track, promenade, new access road); work continuing; completion in 2025. Technically in CD7, but significant benefits to neighborhoods on both sides of I-40.
- International District Library Park—$3.5M project; park plan in design; construction will start in late 2025.
- Mesa Verde Park--$3.5M park renovation plan; $2.6M Phase 1 in design; construction starting in late 2025.
- Daniel Webster Park—$3M Phase 3b (sports/obstacle challenge area); bidding early 2025, start construction in 2025.
- New Mexico Veterans Memorial—restroom renovation, amphitheater work, landscaping; completion by mid-2025.
- Geneiva’s Arroyo Greenway—estimated $1.5M overall project; concept plan complete; construction design documents in preparation; approx. $500,000 available for Phase 1 starting in late 2025.
- Morningside Park—$450,000 playground refresh, park amenities; starting in Spring 2025.
- Puerto del Sol Golf Course—new driving range lights recently added; new shade structure and artificial turf tee box project starting in early 2025; Water Trust Board grant application pending for complete $3.6M irrigation renovation.
- Fox Memorial Park—plan for various park renovations complete; $350,000 Phase 1 in 2025 will include tennis court resurfacing, information kiosk, irrigation system work, playground upgrades.
- Wilson Pool—$275,000 project underway for 2025 to fix flooring, access control and other equipment.
- Highland Pool—$250,000 of misc. projects underway/planned; classroom repair, fixing doors, structural evaluation of the exterior support beams.
- Trumbull Park--$150,000 playground and turf renovation in process
- Hyder Park—irrigation renovation in design
- Jack & Jill Park—park temp closed for work on turf and amenities
