Mission
The mission of the Cruising Community Policing National Network is to create a vehicle-based community policing model in collaboration with municipalities throughout the country who are bridging the gap between their local lowrider clubs, law enforcement agencies, and communities at large. The City of Albuquerque started convening this national network in early 2021 through a series of monthly virtual forums and the initiation of annual national conferences hosted in Albuquerque. Each of the annual national conferences have served a pivotal role in developing a “blueprint” for any municipality wanting to establish a cruising community policing program in their community. These programs have taken on the form of lowrider police vehicle programs and lowrider bike club programs. This national network has also played a role in supporting communities trying to repeal any anti-cruising legislation.
