Albuquerque, NM - City Councilors Klarissa Peña, Louie Sanchez, and Joaquín Baca are kicking off this year’s holiday season with the installation of festive holiday banners along the West Central Avenue Corridor.

“These banners bring a little of the beauty and joy of this holiday season to our constituents and visitors,” said District 3 Councilor Peña. “Central Avenue is our City’s front door, and the nation’s ‘Mother Road.’ Our City should offer a warm welcome to travelers.”

“It is a pleasure to be involved in this effort,” said District 1 Councilor Louie Sanchez. “We hope the banners will spread holiday cheer and goodwill this season.”

“As City Councilors, one of our most important responsibilities is to enhance our communities,” said District 2 Councilor Joaquín Baca. “The holiday banners are a symbol of our continued commitment to that responsibility. We wish everyone a joyous and safe holiday season!”

The banners are being installed on light poles in both directions on Central Avenue. When the installations are completed, the banners bearing “Tis the Season” and “Happy Holidays” will greet and welcome visitors and residents of ‘Duke City.’
