Notice of Final Rulemaking - Election Code

ACTION:
Adoption of 2025 Final Rule for the Election Code and The Open and Ethical Election Code.
SUMMARY:
Due to recent updates to the City Charter and the City Code affecting the Election Code and the Open and Ethical Elections Code, the Office of the City Clerk proposes revisions to the rules corresponding to these codes for candidates and committees. These updates enhance clarity and transparency for candidates, committees, and the public. By standardizing disclosure requirements, defining timelines using computation of time, and providing a path to the
rehabilitation process, these changes aim to ensure a smoother process for the City Clerk.
DATES:
On January 24, 2025, public notice of the rulemaking was posted in the lobby of City Hall and on the City Clerk’s website dedicated to rulemaking, in accordance with §2-15-1, et seq. ROA 1994. On February 6, 2025 at 10:30 am, a public rulemaking hearing took place at One Civic Plaza NW, Albuquerque NM 87106, City Hall 7th Floor, DMD Large Conference Room. The 2025 Rules for the Election Code and The Open and Ethical Election Code are effective immediately after publication by title on the City Clerk’s website and completion of the report in accordance with §2-15-2(B), ROA 1994.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
The Office of the City Clerk did not receive any in person or written comment. The Office of the City Clerk did not have any response to public comment.
