Registration Now Open for Stepping Stones Summit

The City of Albuquerque’s Department of Arts & Culture and Explora Science Center and Children’s Museum are excited to announce a vital community event beneficial to organizations and families, with a focus on youth. Introducing the 2023 Stepping Stones Summit, an opportunity to explore youth development programs in Albuquerque, focusing on arts and cultural organizations. The Summit will be on August 29 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Explora’s brand new teen center, X Studio.

The 2023 Stepping Stones Summit allows participants and attendees to share best practices that foster and sustain healthy developmental relationships with youth, including expanding meaningful internships and abundant work experiences. Increasing access to quality youth programming while strengthening employment pathways are some of the City’s top priorities for achieving prosperity.

At the 2023 Stepping Stones Summit:

- Participating organizations will be given question prompts to help each site share about its own unique youth programming and context.

- Participants will actively take part in facilitated discussions, seeking to highlight the key components of youth development programs that enable and strengthen their effectiveness, the skills and experiences most important for youth development staff, the types of support services most critical for teens and young adults served, and more.

- A panel of youth community members will share their perspectives on these issues.

- Participants will engage in critical networking, resource sharing, and collaborating upon key ideas and strategies.
