Locals Only! Westside Summerfest to Feature Popular Bands in the Area on August 5
Ventana Ranch Community Park on Albuquerque's Westside will be filled with locals only on Saturday, August 5 during Westside Summerfest, the final installment of the summer concert series. From 5 to 10 p.m., Westside Summerfest will feature small businesses with handcrafted products in The Shops, food trucks with freshly made cuisine in the Food Court, libations created by breweries, wineries, and distilleries in The Cantina, entertainment by local talent on two stages, and the best view of the Sandia Mountains.
The entertainment begins with Reviva at 5 p.m. on the West Stage and Burque Band Bandits on the East Stage at 5:15 p.m.
Other bands on the West Stage include:
• 6:15 p.m. – Chris Dracup: Funk of the West
• 7:30 p.m. – Silver Sky Blues Band
• 8:45 p.m. – Str8 Shot
Other bands on the East Stage include:
• 6:30 p.m. – Big K and Blue Train
• 7:45 p.m. – Felix y Los Gatos
• 9 p.m. – Nathaniel Krantz
A variety of food trucks will be on site offering everything from barbeque to frozen yogurt. Local breweries, wineries, and distilleries will be serving their award winning creations in The Cantina. Local artisans will showcase their handmade items ranging from jewelry to candles in The Shops. Free kids activities will include face painting, inflatable jumpies, and a 25 foot climbing wall.
The Society for Creative Anachronism’s local chapter, Barony of al-Barran, will be joining the fun at Heights Summerfest. The group is dedicated to researching and recreating the Middle Ages. They will be near The Shops with Court Dancing, Melee Battles, and Rapier Duels. Kids can Fight A Knight at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.
Free Park & Ride will begin at 4 p.m. from CNM located at 10549 Universe Blvd. NW. SunVan shuttles will take event-goers to and from the park throughout the event. SunVans are handicap accessible. Strollers, lawn chairs, canopies, and coolers are allowed on shuttles. Glass items and alcohol are not permitted on shuttles. A free bike valet will be provided by Esperanza Bike Education Center.
Westside Summerfest is free to the public. Pets on leashes are are welcome. This is a rain or shine event. Please note that glass and alcohol are not permitted in public parks. Event sponsors include iHeart Radio and Lucky Boyz Limousine.
