Join the Adventure! Registration Open for ABQ BioPark’s Spring Break Camps
A week of fun and educational activities is being offered by the ABQ BioPark during this year’s Spring Break Camp, taking place March 17-21. Registration opens Wednesday, February 5, and space is limited. Children in second through sixth grades will have the opportunity to engage in games, crafts, behind-the-scenes tours, and more. Camps will run Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a break for lunch. Guardians should pack water, lunch, and a snack for their child.
"These programs are creating meaningful opportunities for youth during school breaks,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “It gives our young people safe, engaging spaces where they can learn, grow, and thrive all year round."
Campers can choose from two exciting options: a Spring Wildlife Safari at the Zoo where they will learn about animal care, discover incredible animal adaptations, and explore different ecosystems; OR a Spring Sprout and Splash at the Aquarium and Botanic Garden to see firsthand how staff help endangered species.
“Our goal is to offer an engaging and educational experience for second through sixth graders, where they’ll learn about animal behavior while having fun and exploring the facilities,” said BioPark Education Curator Bethany Dunn.
The fee is $265 per child for the full week, or $250 for New Mexico BioPark Society Members. Guardians are encouraged to log in or create an ASAP account ahead of time to ensure their information is current before registering. For registration questions, call 505-764-6214.
Refunds are available if requested at least four weeks before the start of the camp (minus a $25 processing fee per class/per child). No refunds will be issued if requested within the four-week window or after camp has started.
An informational email will be sent one week before camp begins. Please plan to arrive by 9 a.m. and pick up by 12:30 p.m. (for half-day camps) or 4 p.m. (for full-day camps).
Camps will be held rain or shine, with some outdoor activities, so be sure to dress in layers. Don’t forget to bring a lunch, snack, and water bottle.
