City Hall Hosts Employee Art Exhibition
In January 2024, the City of Albuquerque’s Department of Arts & Culture and the Public Art Urban Enhancement Division celebrated the grand opening of your new City Hall art gallery – Gallery One. The inaugural exhibition focused on the work that city employees do to make a difference in Albuquerque and now Gallery One celebrates the creative spirit of city employees with the 2024 Employee Art Exhibit. The exhibit, on view through April 19, is free and open to the public.
Seventy-one City of Albuquerque employees representing every City department are exhibiting their artwork. A variety of methods and media including glass, sculpture, embroidery, painting, drawing, and photography showcase the creativity, imagination, and artistry of the people who keep our city moving forward.
“Albuquerque is a place that values its thriving artistic spirit,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “This is a special showcase of City employees’ artwork that gives a glimpse of the diverse talent and creative spark they demonstrate behind the scenes every day.”
The musical talents of city employees will also be featured in the 2024 Employee Art Exhibit in the Public Art Program’s first ever Airbud™ Afternoon Playlist series, where employees’ original musical compositions will be shared with gallery visitors during the exhibition. Providing a unique audio experience for visitors to experience the visual and musical talents of city workers.
Gallery One hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Gallery One is located on the first floor of City Hall at 1 Civic Plaza NW.
