An Event to Eclipse all Others at the Balloon Museum Celebrates Celestial Sensation
An awe-inspiring celestial phenomenon is set to grace the skies above Albuquerque as the Annular Eclipse takes center stage during the Balloon Fiesta and at the Anderson Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum on Saturday, Oct. 14. The exact moment the Moon moves between the Sun and the Earth, blocking out all but an annulus of the Sun’s light creating what looks like a “ring of fire” around the Moon will be visible. The Balloon Museum will host an unforgettable experience during its eclipse viewing event on October 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. as attendees gather to stand in the path of annularity.
Come for the balloons at Balloon Fiesta Park and stay for the Annular Eclipse event at the Balloon Museum. Doors open to the museum at 6 a.m. on October 14. Enjoy a breakfast burrito from onsite food truck Desert Sky on the Fly and a latte from Dawn Patrol Coffee Shack.
This event includes presentations by esteemed space weather scientists and climatologists from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Additionally, special guests from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) will join in to share their insights and knowledge about this rare celestial event.
Throughout the event, attendees can engage in hands-on activities that enhance their understanding of the eclipse and space-related topics. Food trucks will also be on-site, offering a variety of delicious culinary options to satisfy appetites during this exciting half-day event.
It's important to note that while this annular eclipse offers a captivating view, it is never safe to look directly at the Sun during an eclipse without proper protective eyewear.
