Tickets are now Available for ABQ BioPark Summer Evening Tours
May 17 –The ABQ BioPark offers guests a chance to get an exclusive guided evening tour of the Zoo or Botanic Garden on select Tuesday evenings throughout the summer.
During these special small-group tours led by ABQ BioPark volunteers, attendees will learn about the fascinating nighttime behaviors of pollinators, night-blooming plants, zoo animals and more.
As the sun goes down, some animals, like the great horned owl, are just waking up. In the darkness of night, these raptors can silently sneak up on their prey with feathers specially adapted to help them fly without making a sound. This is one animal that visitors can learn about and perhaps even spot during an evening tour.
"Evening tours are a great chance to learn about animals and plants of the BioPark after the crowds have left for the day and temperatures have cooled down," said Tori Fox, Zoo education coordinator. "Every animal’s evening routine is a little different, but this is the best time to see nocturnal animals like owls."
