Temporary Closure of Reptile Building and Macaw Habitat Begins April 21
Starting Monday, April 21, the Reptile House at ABQ BioPark Zoo will be temporarily closed for renovations. Due to construction being focused mainly along the entrance to the reptile building, the pathway from the reptile building to the Birds of the Islands entrance will also be closed.
The closure is expected to last until mid-summer, and due to the proximity of the construction, the macaw habitat will be closed during this time as well. However, guests will still be able to access Birds of the Island, the tortoise area, and Raptor Roost through The Americas pathway.
The construction consists of maintenance work to replace the aging shade structure at the reptile building entrance.
We appreciate your patience during this time, and look forward to reopening the area and the reptile building as soon as possible. In the meantime, the Life on a Limb habitat remains open with numerous amphibians. Guests can also experience our Komodo Dragon walks on select days. Check the BioPark Connections schedule for dates and times.
