ABQ BioPark and Thornburg Investment Management partner to bring virtual field trips to students
Students from all across New Mexico have opportunity to bring the BioPark to their community
The ABQ BioPark offers virtual field trips to bring the wonders of nature to students everywhere.
For a limited time, Thornburg Investment Management will sponsor up to 20 virtual field trips so students anywhere in New Mexico can see live animal ambassadors and learn from BioPark staff free of charge.
“Our virtual field trips are an extremely popular way for a variety of groups to experience the wonders of the BioPark anywhere you are.” said Bethany Dunn, School and Youth Programs Coordinator. “Thanks to the generous donation by Thornburng Investment Management, even more students from all over our state will be able to learn about our natural world.”
To apply for a program sponsored by Thornburg Investment Management, simply fill out this form.
Sponsored virtual field trips are available to all New Mexico students and for group sizes from 5 to 35 students per program. The amount of virtual field trips is limited, and not all applicants will be awarded a sponsored program.
When the pandemic started and many kids were not able to make it to the BioPark in person, the Education department expanded the Discover the BioPark program. This program offers both on-grounds and virtual field trips to students of all ages. These field trips focus on habitats, animal adaptations and life science concepts.
