Description

It's a day to celebrate the amazing wildlife we share a home with here in Albuquerque! Join members of the ABQ BioPark's animal care, education, and horticulture teams as well as our community partners to discover how you can support and protect our urban wildlife neighbors. This event will be at both the Botanic Garden and Tingley Beach.

Botanic Garden

Meet our partners around the Festival Green where you can explore activities, learn how to create native wildlife refuges in your back yard, discover which wildlife species visit the Petroglyph National Monument, and understand the role that our native species play in our local environment. You can also pledge to participate in “Lights Out Albuquerque” to protect migrating birds, and other ways to participate in local wildlife conservation!

BioPark animal care and horticulture teams will also be there to share various conservation projects that the BioPark participates in; from North American Song Bird S.A.F.E. (Saving Animals From Extinction), Backyard Refuges and Human-Wildlife Conflict to pollinators, arthropods, and gray wolf conservation!

Tingley Beach

BioPark Education will be presenting discovery stations where you'll learn about the species of waterfowl that use Albuquerque as a migration stop, animals that live in the Bosque and how read the signs that an animal was in the area, getting started with bird watching, the importance of bats and bat conservation, and the role of pollinators. You can even make your own pollinator seed ball to take home!

In addition, our partners at the City of Albuquerque Open Space will meet guests at the Tingley Station for a walking tour of the Bosque. Walk schedule coming soon!
