Celebrate Mom with the variety of Zoo mothers and their little wild ones. All moms will be celebrated during this special day whether they have toes, paws, hooves or claws. Enjoy music around every corner with the family as you learn more about how the animals raise their young at the Zoo. Grab a yummy snack from one of the stands around the facility or have a picnic in the grass. Treat Mom like a queen!

Discovery Stations
Learn more about mothering strategies in the animal work! BioPark Education Volunteers will be located at Discovery Stations throughout the event to teach attendees a little more about all the Zoo families, babies, and mothers. All stations will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Alligator Discovery Station at the Alligator Habitat
Reptiles are known to hide their parental behaviors! Stop by the alligator habitat to get a rare look into the the ways these mothers care for their young.
Outback Parents Discovery Station at the Gray Kangaroo Habitat
Learn something new about the different maternal and paternal methods of raising young. Australia is famous for having a large diversity of animals, including those classed as marsupials and the only 2 egg laying mammals.
Gorilla Discovery Station at the Gorilla Habitat
The ABQ BioPark Zoo is currently home to a baby gorilla! Stop by to say hello and learn about the familial structures in a gorilla's society.
Orangutans and Siamangs Discovery Station at the Asia Primate Habitat
Did you know that these animals will adopt orphaned babies and create new families? Stop by the Asia Habitat to visit the primates and see their family dynamics in action.
Penguins Discovery Station at Penguin Chill
It takes dedication and struggle for penguin parents to ensure the wellbeing of their penguin chicks. Visit the Discovery Station at Penguin Chill to take a peak into what these parents endure.

Grab a bite to eat from one of these familiar stands or bring your own food to enjoy during a picnic in the park. There will specialty items available at a variety of eateries and snack stations around the Zoo including Double Smash Cheese Burger Served at Café Chill; Taco Salad, Nacho Supreme, Penne with Alfredo and Grilled Chicken, Penne with Italian Sausage Served at Cottonwood Café; Egg Rolls with Fried Rice served in Asia; Flat Bread Taco Served at Turquoise Trail; and Loaded Churros served at Cottonwood Cafe.
