Description
Charlie Carrillo is a living legend in New Mexico in many different ways. He holds a PhD in Archaeology and Anthropology and is a Master Santero responsible for creating bultos, retablos, and altar screens. He is a published author, an expert on the religious history of Northern New Mexico, and a teacher and mentor to countless students studying regional devotional art of New Mexico. He also works with the Artist-In-Residence Program for the State of New Mexico and travels to schools around the state discussing santos and giving workshops.
