The United States Department of Energy requests a new air quality permit in Application #3456
The applicant is requesting a new construction permit to install a new 292-horsepower, diesel-fueled, emergency generator. DOE and SNL/NM are requesting to operate the emergency generator for a maximum of 500 hours per year. The emergency generator will only be operated during unavoidable loss of commercial power, or during required maintenance and exercising activities.
