  • NOTICE OF THE FORMATION OF WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION AIR QUALITY GUIDELINES WORK GROUP

Due to demonstrated and continued interest of the community in the exploration of the World Health Organization (WHO) Air Quality Guidelines (AQG), the Board voted on December 14, 2022 to form a WHO AQG Work Group to allow for further exploration of the issue and how it might inform approaches to air quality in Bernalillo County. This work group could also help determine if a formal committee would be the best manner in which to proceed. The formation of the work group will also streamline communication between the Environmental Health Department (EHD), the Board and the public. Additionally, it will allow for broader participation including EHD, the regulated community and other interested members of the public. An introductory meeting will be hosted by Antoinette Sedillo Lopez, Board Counsel, to lay out the process and expectations of the group formed under the purview of the Board. Anyone interested in joining the group should send their name and a brief introduction of themselves and the groups they represent or are working with to the Air Quality Control Board Liaison, Valerie Armijo, no later than April 30, 2023. Ms. Armijo may be reached at 505-768-1915 or [email protected].
