What is CABQ Play?
CABQ Play is the platform the City of Albuquerque uses to register and pay online for many events, programs, lessons, classes, and rentals. You will also find links to find more information about City Youth programs and events.
How Do I Register and Pay for Items?
- Go to play.cabq.gov.
- Create an account, called a household.
- After creating a household, you are able to purchase, reserve, or register for any item(s) by adding it to your cart.
- Finally, proceed to check out to receive confirmation of registration or payment.
Who Can Help Me? How Can I Get Help Creating My Account, Updating My Account, Resetting My Password, or Registering?
The City of Albuquerque has a few different avenues for assistance. Please do not create a duplicate account/household to log in.
- Call our Community Contact Center by dialing 311 or 505-768-2000. They will be able to assist you with password reset, retrieving usernames, and updating email addresses.
- For help in person or assistance with more complex issues, you are welcome to stop by any of the facilities listed here during business hours.
- If you forgot your password, enter your email address here to receive a password reset email.
- For all other questions, please use the contact form.
It Says That I Am Already in the System, My Email is Associated With More Than One Account, or I Am Unable to Register. How Can I Fix My Login Information?
Please call us at 505-768-2000 to update your login information, even if you have never created an account. You are also welcome to stop by any of the facilities listed here to get help in person. Please do not create a duplicate account/household to login.
How Do I Create a Household?
To create a household, you will enter important information about yourself and other members of your household. This way, you will use one account to register anyone who resides at your address. You will need to create a household before you can checkout items in your cart. To create a new household:
- Click SIGN IN/REGISTER.
- Fill in the required information. Please choose a username and password you will remember. Accurate birthday information for each member is important for age restrictions on some events, programs, and lessons. Please ensure you do not add an extra space after entering your zip code.
- Click Add New Household/ Family Member and fill in the required information for each member of the household you would like to register.
- Click Add New Emergency Contact and fill in the required information for each emergency contact of the household.
- Click Save.
How Do I Update My Household to Add a Family Member and/or Emergency Contact?
To updated an existing household:
- Log in to your account.
- Click My Account and select Household & Member.
- Finally click Add New Member and/or Add New Contact and fill in the required information. Accurate birthday information for each member is important for age restrictions on some events, programs, and lessons.
Why is Date of Birth Required When Setting up My Household or Adding Household Members?
Many programs on CABQ Play are categorized by age. For example, youth swimming lessons or adult softball leagues. By providing accurate birthdays during your household creation, you can register without issues.
How Do I Change Birthday Information?
Please contact the program directly if you have incorrectly entered a birthday. You may be asked to verify age with documentation prior to the start of a program.
Why Am I Getting an Invalid Zip Code Error?
During checkout credit card processing, you may receive an error regarding your zip code, even though you are sure it is the correct number. You must verify the zip code in your account is correct and doesn’t contain an extra space after the last number.
- Log in to your account.
- Click My Account then click Update household and member.
- Retype your five-digit zip code, making sure there is no space after the fifth digit and click Save.
- Log out of your account by clicking Logout and completely close your web browser to finalize the account update.
- You can now log in and continue with your transaction.
How Do I Cancel or Transfer My Activity Registration?

What’s New at play.cabq.gov? Updated Oct. 2021
New Design: The first thing you may notice is a new site layout. Click on a section to view items in that category, or click on the All Activities section to search all items. The Youth section will be updated throughout the year with all seasonal youth events and programs the City offers.
Filter Features: You can now use filters to browse all items that fit your needs. Click on a filter like age or type and click search.
Search Bar: Use the search bar to find items by key words.
Calendar: Click on Event Calendar to view upcoming items in a calendar view.
Languages: You can now translate the site into many languages using the Google translate dropdown menu in the upper left side of the screen.
Seasonal Youth: View all City youth events and programs in the Youth section, even if you do not use CABQ Play to register for them.
