AWD Doghouse Lottery Program

Applications are currently being accepted for our free doghouse lottery program for qualifying Albuquerque citizens only.

Low and moderate income residents of Albuquerque seeking a doghouse for their pet can apply for the AWD Doghouse Lottery.

Please submit only one Application per household.  Only one application will stay in the lottery.  Submitting multiple applications will cause a delay in this process.  This is for the City of Albuquerque Residents only with low to moderate income (see table below).  Proof of address and income will need to be shown at the time of service.  

If your application is selected during this lottery, you will be contacted via phone and/or email address you provided in your application. If you are contacted, you will have 1 week to respond.. Please regularly check your phone number and email address.

Due to high demand, only ONE doghouse will be awarded per lottery winning household at this time.

Please note: This is not for immediate HEART Ordinance requirements relating to required shelter for court dates or citation compliance .

How do I Qualify For a Free Doghouse for My Pet?

Qualification is based on:

• Residence within the City of Albuquerque
• Total household income (see table below)
• You must be 18years of age or older
  

  What are the Income Guidelines For the City Program?

  The program is offered to those who do not exceed the moderate-income level for their family size. Participants are classified as low income and moderate income in accordance with city law. The income figures are derived from federal guidelines for Albuquerque.
