Office of Black Community Engagement Launches Black Affinity Spaces

As the City of Albuquerque has a mission to create Racially Equitable spaces for the community at large we must also center into the awareness that marginalized communities work within a structure where Black identifying employee’s can often feel outside of their own departments and government institutions. We know that being seen matters, culture matters, people matter.

Our Mission is to provide sanctuary space for City and State employee’s who identify as Black/African. As a nomadic village we hope to infuse Black owned companies with vital energy and build networks within our community.

The Office of Black Community engagement is committed to supporting entrepreneurship within the Black community and additionally tasked with supporting a healthy ecosystem for building networks within CABQ. We know that Affinity Spaces increase trust, team building, and employee belonginess.
