As emergency response continues for the South Fork and Salt fires, the New Mexico Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM) needs Emergency Management Specialists to relieve and supplement their counterparts in Ruidoso. Stephen Kuhns, an Emergency Management Trainer from the City of Albuquerque, will be heading down to Ruidoso this week, to give our partners much needed help.

“As tough times continue in Ruidoso, and we’re here to provide relief and assistance to our neighbors to the south,” said Director of Emergency Operations Michael Riley.

“Albuquerque’s thoughts and prayers are with Ruidoso, and we’re here to support our fellow New Mexicans during these devastating times,” said Mayor Tim Keller

Stephen will be staffing the Emergency Operations Center and assisting with coordinating consequence management and recovery efforts. The City of Albuquerque’s Office of Emergency Management works with agencies around the state and helps respond to large-scale incidents.
