APD targets top 5 drivers of crime during 5th week of Southeast Operation
Albuquerque – APD made 25 felony arrests and recovered 3 firearms during the fifth week of an operation that focused on reducing crime in key areas of Southeast Albuquerque.
The operations began last month as a department-wide effort to reduce crime from San Mateo Boulevard through San Pedro and up to Louisiana Boulevard. Last week, APD released stats from the first 4 weeks of the operations.
During the fifth week of the operation, officers continued conducting field briefings in hotspot locations and demonstrated their presence and accessibility to the community. Officers offered resources to unhoused individuals and took enforcement action when necessary.
Below are the results from the fifth week of the operations:
- Felony Arrests: 25
- Felony Warrants Cleared: 27
- Misdemeanor Citations: 56
- Recovered Firearms: 3
- Written Reports: 32
- Traffic Stops: 48
- Traffic Citations: 144
- Calls for Service: 10
- On sites (self-initiated calls by officers) 135
The High Risk Victims Unit (HRVU) held a 3-day operation addressing the solicitation of prostitution, a total of 22 individuals were arrested.
As part of the operations, the Field Services Bureau works alongside the Investigative Support Division to identify top 5 known prolific offenders who are driving crime. The top 5 list is updated as individuals on the list are taken into custody. In the first week of the operation, the following individuals were identified and arrested:

- Patricia Campos (06/26/79, 06/25/79)
- Justin Lang (10/20/94, 12/20/94)
- Justin Duffy (06/23/83)
- Carlos Muniz (09/22/87, 09/22/86)
Including week 5, the operations totals are below:

These efforts by the department will continue with six units (Felony Apprehension Support Team (FAST), Investigative Services Unit (ISU), Horse Mounted Unit, Motors and DWI Units, High Risk Victims Unit, Tactical) working along Southeast PRT and Southeast Field Officers as they run the operations.
