City Attorney Lauren Keefe, JD, Legal Department
Lauren Keefe, a graduate of Tufts University and the University of New Mexico School of Law, started her career as an editor and reporter in and around Boston, MA. She worked as a law clerk for the New Mexico Court of Appeals and Supreme Court, conducting legal researching and drafting opinions on matters pending before the Court. In 2003, she joined Peifer, Hanson & Mullins, P.A. firm as an attorney and shareholder, focusing on employment matters, contract disputes, class actions, and wrongful death claims.
Ms. Keefe started Keefe Law Firm in 2019, where she represented clients on employment matters, contract disputes and administrative proceedings. At the start of 2022, she began serving as special counsel to the Office of the City Attorney for the City of Albuquerque, where she has represented the City in connection with the Court-Appointed Settlement Agreement. She also served as interim director of the Policy Division of the Office of the City Attorney. She was confirmed as City Attorney on June 22, 2022.
Ms. Keefe also serves on the Board of Directors for the New Mexico Women's Bar Association.
