Recycle your Christmas tree for free!

Close up of lit up Christmas tree with building in background.The Solid Waste Management Department (SWMD), Parks and Recreation, and PNM are teaming up to offer residents a chance to recycle their real Christmas trees. The program kicks off on December 26, 2024, and runs through January 8, 2025. Trees may be dropped of between 8:00AM and 4:30PM at the following locations:

  • Eagle Rock Convenience Center, 6301 Eagle Rock NE, 505-768-3925
  • Ladera Golf Course, 3401 Ladera NW, 505-836-4449
  • Montessa Park Convenience Center, 3512 Los Picaros SE, 505-768-3930, closed on Thursdays and Friday

PNM Vegetation Management crews and Parks and Recreation staff will grind trees into mulch chips, which can provide a better growing environment for plants and residential landscapes. Residents can pick up the mulch chips free of charge while supplies last.

Please remove all bags, tree stands, decorations and lights from trees before dropping them off to be mulched. Artificial trees will not be accepted. Limit of five trees per resident, no commercial customers.
