Employee of the Week: Jarvis Sanchez, Department of Senior Affairs
November 2, 2012
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Jarvis Sanchez is an employee in Department of Senior Affairs and he is this week’s Employee of the Week.
Mr. Sanchez is credited for going above and beyond on a day off of work to assist a senior citizen in the City of Albuquerque. We all know that moving is a tough process and doing it alone is a daunting and stressful task. It only gets harder the older we become, and the more health issues that we face. Mr. Sanchez recognized this when he heard that a senior citizen would be moving into a new apartment.
He knew that the senior citizen struggled with several health issues; with poor vision being just one of many. Mr. Sanchez felt that moving would be very taxing on this elderly woman’s health, so he volunteered his time, on his day off to help her move.
Mr. Sanchez took it upon himself to help the woman gather her things from her old apartment and move them into her new apartment. He also took all of the trash that they were able to gather to the dump. The lady appeared to be living in very disturbing conditions at her current apartment, and this move put her in much safer and healthier conditions.
It is important for anyone to be able to live in a healthy environment and Mr. Sanchez helped make this ladies move possible. He sacrificed his personal time for a citizen of the City of Albuquerque.
